Job summary

Lawson Companies in Lynchburg, VA is seeking a Project Manager to lead a multi-phase apartment community construction project. You will provide overall direction, coordination, and timely reporting, interacting with designers, subcontractors, and Lawson teammates to ensure safety, on-time delivery and budget adherence.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in fast-paced multi-family or commercial construction, with a degree in engineering/architecture/construction management or PM certification, and

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or PM certification; or 7+ years PM experience.
• Minimum 5 years in the construction industry; preferably with an owner or general contractor.
• Knowledge of scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, and general construction processes.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications; proficient in MS Office; strong written and verbal communication.

Description

We are currently looking for a Project Manager to join our expanding construction team. This position is based in Lynchburg, VA, and will support the construction of a multi-phase apartment community. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with at least 5 years of experience in managing fast-paced multi-family or commercial construction projects. Experience working with Virginia Housing is preferred.

The Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for providing overall direction, oversight, and coordination of construction activities to deliver high-quality housing safely, on time, and within budget. The successful candidate must be skilled in providing timely, complete, and accurate reports. They should thrive in a team environment and possess strong communication skills to interact effectively with Lawson colleagues, design partners, and subcontractors.

Requirements

• An undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a degree/certification in construction project management, or at least 7 years of experience in construction project management.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably with an owner or general contractor.
• Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, and general construction processes.
• Familiarity with reading drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office products.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• A reliable team player.
• A strong interest and passion for the building industry.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

• Capability to drive a company vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the company.
