Job summary

Everus Construction Group, Inc. is seeking a full-time on-site Project Manager in Kansas City, KS to lead project management from estimating through final acceptance.

You’ll promote the Everus 4EVER Strategy while coordinating with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to deliver projects on time and within budget. Ideal candidates hold a construction management degree with 3+ years of estimating experience and 5+ years in PM.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or similar field; strong estimating background.
  • 3+ years estimating in construction required.
  • 5+ years in construction project management preferred.
  • Experience with electrical construction PM is a plus.
  • Familiar with ACCUBID software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide initial client contact to assess scope, resources needed to complete project(s).
  • Prepare complete estimates for selected projects with specs, drawings, and take-offs.
  • Supervise total construction effort ensuring adherence to design, codes, budget and schedule.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise on-site functions (scheduling, engineering, material control).
  • Direct on-site administrative staff and coordinate with the on-site Foreman.
  • Ensure timely completion of project documentation (billing, change orders, etc.).
  • Investigate situations with potential impacts and initiate corrective actions.
  • Enforce company safety policies; report and correct safety incidents.
  • Provide technical assistance as needed; establish project objectives and procedures.
  • Initiate and maintain extra work estimating and change orders; travel may be required.

JOB SUMMARY

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management (or similar field) or equivalent combination of technical training and/or experience.
  • 3+ years of experience estimating in construction.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years in construction project management is preferred.
  • Previous experience with electrical construction project management is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ACCUBID is preferred.
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
  • Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule.
  • Ability to apply effective management techniques to maximize performance.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated construction management, estimating, and/or craft supervision experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations, engineering, estimating, schedules, and safety required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide initial client contact to assess the scope of work and resources required to successfully complete project(s).
  • Prepare complete estimates for selected projects which may include a detailed review of specifications, drawings, take-off information, contract requirements, etc.
  • Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, codes and standards, budget, and schedule, interface with client representatives, other contractors, and other Capital Electric Construction personnel.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise on-site functions (scheduling, engineering, material control, etc.).
  • May provide day-to-day direction of on-site administrative staff and work with the on-site Foreman to manage the work of project support personnel.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all project documentation including but not limited to correspondence, billing, purchase orders, change orders, submittals, schedules, etc.
  • Investigate any situations with potential project impacts. Mitigate any situations that may impact the project whenever possible and initiate corrective action as necessary.
  • Ensure company safety policies and procedures are followed. Investigate, report, and correct any safety-related incidents.
  • Provide technical assistance or interpretation as needed.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of corporate policies.
  • Initiate and maintain extra work estimating and issuance of change orders.
  • Travel, either local or overnight, may be required and this position is required to drive.
  • Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned.
