Job Description

As our new Construction Project Manager, you will manage/direct staff activities associated with the design and construction of projects. You must be able to interpret the drawings, specifications and schedule to ensure the project is being constructed in accordance with the design intent, project execution plan, budget and schedule. You have proven a further emerging ability to: contribute to the substantial financial growth; and to develop followership, lead high performance teams, resolve conflict, negotiate positive outcomes, mentor future leaders, and motivate employees.

Your key responsibilities will be

  • Managing budgets, project staff, subcontractors, task schedules, change orders and project risks (quality and revenue recognition), invoicing, accounts payable and receivable, and budgeted project gross margin.
  • Managing project conformance with respect to all quality and safety guidelines.
  • Pro‑actively managing change orders and project risks in terms of quality of deliverables, subcontracts, revenue recognition, budgets, cash management and safety.
  • Maintaining client contact and strategic plan implementation related to technical advice, planning, permitting and construction phase services for water/wastewater construction projects.
  • Assuming an active role in the selection of the project team, procure subcontractors, prepare and administer budgets and schedules for projects.
  • Acting in a leadership role for implementing, complying, and promoting health and safety requirements and guidance.
  • Preparing business development opportunity proposals, negotiation with clients, project planning and execution.
  • Conducting constructability reviews of design and supporting documents for conformance with projects’ technical and performance goals.
  • Conducting quality reviews of proposals and project deliverables or work products completed by others working under their direction.
  • Motivating and influence a project team to deliver client service excellence.
  • Implementing, delegating, and mentoring technical and administrative responsibilities to the project team.
  • Developing growth and succession plans for direct reports to ensure development of successors of critical skills and positions.
  • Actively using Ramboll’s tools and resources to execute frequent check‑ins, goal alignment/setting, career development planning, and growth and succession planning.
  • Identifying new hire needs and initiates recruiting and hiring process.
  • Creating and executing integration plans for new hires and follows Ramboll’s onboarding process.
  • Resolving conflict effectively.
  • Promoting an inclusive, diverse work environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology and 8+ years of qualifying engineering experience in the engineering/design field.
  • Associate’s degree or technical school certification in science, math, architecture, computing, technical drafting or other relevant technical curriculum, and 10+ years of qualifying engineering experience working in the engineering/design field.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring people in construction management positions or roles.
  • Experience in client project or program management.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project and financial reporting systems.
  • Demonstrated successful track record in exceptional client services.
  • Additional skills, certifications, and qualities that will help you succeed in this role include:
  • CCM, USACE CQM, CCCA, NICET certifications.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer with the ability to apply for reciprocity in additional states as needed.
  • OSHA 30 Hour Construction Training.

Salary Transparency Statement

At Ramboll, your base pay is only part of your overall total compensation package. At the time of this posting, this role is likely to be compensated at an hourly rate between $114,000 to $140,000 per hour. Actual pay may be more or less than the posted range, depending on numerous factors, including experience, geographical location, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and skill level, and does not include bonuses, overtime, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
