Job summary

Marathon Petroleum is seeking a Construction Specialist to lead capital projects from conception through start-up at Midland, TX. You will ensure safety, schedule adherence, and budget compliance while coordinating with engineering, operations, controls, and supply chain teams.

Responsibilities include maintaining project documentation, coordinating with stakeholders, and guiding contracting plans and bid evaluations in line with MPC standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two-year Engineering Technology degree preferred.
• Three years of related experience required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Manages a portfolio of projects from conception to start-up following the Marathon Project Management Process (MPMP).
• Develops knowledge of applicable industry and company standards and applies it to design and execution.
• Collaborates with departments, engineers, technicians, and vendors to plan, design, and execute projects; coordinates permits and easements as needed.
• Manages project performance to meet quality, cost, and schedule targets in a safe, compliant manner.
• Collaborates with Project Controls on scheduling, estimating, cost management, etc.
• Coordinates with Supply Chain to develop contracting plans and evaluate bids.
• Maintains complete project documentation for regulatory and internal compliance.

Education

High School Diploma/GED

Two-year Engineering Technology degree (preferred)
