Job summary
Balfour Beatty Construction in Orange County, CA seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support the Project Manager with administrative and technical tasks for construction projects. You will handle contract administration, change orders, submittals, procurement, and schedule updates to ensure safe, on-time, and profitable project delivery.
The role emphasizes cost control, CPM scheduling, and proactive communication with customers and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 5+ years of construction office or field experience in a Project Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, or Assistant Project Manager role.
- 1+ year of direct supervisory experience.
- Experience with project manager software (Constructware, P6, Timberline, etc.).
- Experience with cost projection, financial analysis, budget reviews, labor reports.
- Experience with JD Edwards or similar construction application(s).
Responsibilities
- Oversee project financials, cost control, and budgeting.
- Coordinate preconstruction activities and procurement.
- Develop and manage project schedules and CPM look-ahead.
- Administer project scope, contracting, and close-out activities.
- Maintain strong customer and community relations.
- Support leadership development and team culture.
