Job summary

AECOM seeks a Construction Project Engineering II to support large-scale delivery in Los Angeles, CA. The role coordinates with clients, GCs, trade contractors, architects and engineers to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities include managing RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and project correspondence, reviewing plans, and monitoring safety and quality. A Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience is required; healthcare and ground-up construction

  • Healthcare client experience preferred.
  • Ground up construction experience preferred.

Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Construction Project Engineering II to be based in Los Angeles, CA.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with various project team members, including the Client, General Contractor, trade contractors, Architects, and Engineers.
  • Organize, track and resolve all incoming requests for information (RFIs).
  • Review, distribute, and track all submittals.
  • Generate and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Generate and distribute project correspondence.
  • Read and interpret project plans and specifications.
  • Assist in resolving issues encountered in the field.
  • Appraise project risks and create risk registers along with mitigation strategies.
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of Contractor activities within the area of responsibility.
  • Assist with monitoring Contractor’s work to ensure adherence with project plans and ensure quality control.
  • Review manpower, material, equipment requirements with others as designated by Project Manager.
  • Assist with compliance of safety program that creates a safe and healthy work environment and adheres to OSHA safety and record keeping requirements.
  • Prepare reports as required and keep supervisors informed on progress of overall assigned activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external record keeping requirements.
  • Use current construction management system to perform record‑keeping tasks including composing daily diaries, maintaining project logs and retrieving RFIs, submittal logs, agreements, etc.
  • Assist in monitoring the project pre‑plan which includes a CPM schedule, work sequences, manpower utilization, material handling and storage requirements and equipment use.
  • When requested, interface with client, architect and design professionals to ensure compliance to design intent and client satisfaction.
  • Contribute to building good communications between field management, Project Management, Project Controls and Client.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working with healthcare clients; ground up construction experience is preferred.

Location

Position will be located primarily at the client site and/or construction site in Los Angeles, CA.

Compensation

Expected range: $71,000.00 – $120,000.00, based on location and individual qualifications.
