We are looking for a Construction Project Engineer to join our team.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
- The VDC Engineer is responsible for virtual construction needs in Preconstruction, Construction Operations, and Consulting/Litigation Support Services departments.
- The VDC Engineer is a power-user of all of KLORMAN’s VDC software programs.
- The position requires a self-motivated, open-minded, and dedicated individual who is willing to take on new challenges.
- The VDC Engineer is based in Woodland Hills, CA, but travels to jobsites and partner offices as needed and may work out of jobsites as required.
- The position reports to the Virtual Design & Construction Coordinator.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and coordinate 3D object-oriented models.
- Manage project documents (Drawing updates, RFIs, submittals, PCOs, and NOCs) using platforms such as Prolog and ProjectSight.
- Process subcontractor RFIs and submittals.
- Create concrete shop drawings, including lift drawings and formwork drawings for field use.
- Perform contract drawing review for constructability under supervision and issue RFIs.
- Produce layout information for Robotic Total Station.
- Participate in project BIM coordination and clash detection.
- Produce logistic drawings using TEKLA, SketchUp, REVIT, and other software.
- Produce model-based quantity reports and incorporate actual schedule information into the model.
- Perform 3D scanning using scanners.
- Create as-built models based on 3D scanned files or surveying results.
- Create 4D/5D visual simulations incorporating BIM+TIME+COST using Navisworks or Synchro.
- Support Preconstruction and Business Development efforts by creating pursuit models and photorealistic renderings.
- Produce presentation-quality rendered models and fly-throughs, and manage RFIs.
QUALIFICATIONS (MINIMUM SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS):
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or a construction-related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years in the building or design industry (preferred but not required).
- Ability to understand, interpret, and independently use construction drawings.
- Understanding of concepts of VDC or BIM.
- Exposure to and preliminary experience with BIM systems such as Autodesk Revit, Bentley, Vico Constructor, TEKLA, Synchro, Navisworks, SketchUp, or similar software suites.
- Excellent computer skills, including high proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and BlueBeam.
- Strong personal management skills, dedication, organization, and open-mindedness.
