Job summary

Knife River is seeking a Project Engineer in Idaho Falls to support project management and field coordination. You will assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with scheduling updates and tracking quantities, time, and costs while supporting client and vendor communications.

The role involves coordinating with utilities, analyzing plans, and contributing to cost estimation when possible. Travel within the state may be required; a BS in CM/CE is preferred, with 2+ years of construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or Civil Engineering or equivalent working experience.
• 2+ years proven experience as Project Engineer or in a comparable position within construction.
• Fluency in Microsoft Office; experience in HCSS Heavy Job and JD Edwards accounting software preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and a qualifying driving record per Company Policy.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and GPS systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager and Superintendent in updating schedule.
• Track quantities and input time.
• Responsible for project Public Relations and stakeholder outreach.
• Coordinate with utility companies.
• Analyze project plans and coordinate activities to ensure projects are built according to spec.
• Track costs.
• Consult with clients, vendors or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Have some opportunity to provide estimates.
