Job summary

MKL Careers seeks a Project Engineer to support delivery on commercial, institutional, and mixed-use projects in San Francisco. This role offers a growth path toward project management and requires strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years in construction project engineering, familiar with submittals and RFI processes, and proficient with Procore, Bluebeam, or MS Project. On-site work in SF is expected.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of construction project engineering experience.
• Familiarity with the submittal/RFI process.
• Knowledge of scheduling and project management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project).
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the project management team with submittals, RFIs, change orders, and daily project documentation.
• Track and maintain project schedules, logs, and closeout documentation.
• Review drawings and specs to identify conflicts and coordination issues.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, architects, and engineers to resolve field questions.
• Assist in buyout, scope review, and subcontractor coordination.
• Assist with quality control, punch lists, and closeout procedures.
• Attend and help lead project meetings and document action items.
• Support cost tracking, budget updates, and change order documentation.
• Assist superintendents with material tracking and procurement logs.
• Maintain organized project files and audit-ready documentation.
