Job summary

Actalent in Lubbock, TX is seeking a Project Engineer to coordinate large-scale commercial construction projects. You will bridge field operations and project management, manage RFIs, submittals, budgets, and schedules, and support estimating and design coordination. Role emphasizes collaboration across stakeholders and progress toward a Project Manager position.

The position is contract-to-hire, onsite, with extensive use of Procore and Building Connected on active sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum experience as a Project Engineer in commercial construction.
• Procore and Building Connected proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between field operations and project management.
• Manage RFIs from prep to resolution to maintain momentum.
• Coordinate submittals with subcontractors and design teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
• Track budgets, costs, and change orders for financial control.
• Assist scheduling by updating timelines and milestones.
• Support estimation with quantity takeoffs and scope reviews.
• Review drawings and specs to identify requirements.
• Provide mechanical and electrical project support with engineering teams.
• Use Procore and Building Connected to manage docs and workflows.
• Oversee closeout activities and turnover packages.
• Communicate clearly with teams and partners.
• Identify issues and propose solutions to protect quality, schedule, and budget.
• Grow into a Project Manager role with increasing responsibilities.
