Job summary

S&B Services is offering Project Engineer Intern positions for Summer 2027 in Dallas, TX. Interns assist Project Managers across estimating, scheduling, design meetings, buyout, submittal reviews, billing, and site visits. The program includes weekly training sessions, travel opportunities, and a stipend for interns living outside the market.

Competitive hourly rate with potential for a discretionary bonus at term-end and a path toward full-time opportunities after graduation.

Qualifications

• Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0.
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Engineering program in Construction Management or related field.
• Prior industry internship experience is a plus.
• Extracurricular involvement is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Estimating – Describing project proposals and assigning dollar values to the projects.
• Scheduling – Creating a working timeline for subcontractors to complete the project on time.
• Design meetings – Attend design meetings with owner and team to understand design pro structural engineers, architects.
• Buyout – Send bid instructions, schedule, and drawings to subcontractors; receive and evaluate proposals and award subcontracts.
• Shop Drawing and Submittal Review – Review subcontractor drawings with PM and design team and communicate with subs.
• Billing – Work with PM to understand the business side of building such as managing subcontracts, change orders, pay requests, pay applications, and owning projects cost status.
• Jobsite Visits – Visit jobsite with PM and work with Project Superintendent’s to ensure the project is running smoothly.
• Weekly Training Sessions – weekly training sessions to understand their role and how the business operates, virtual/in-person/on-site.
