Job summary

Jobot in Sacramento, CA is seeking a Project Engineer (Construction) to direct and assist with management of assigned commercial construction projects. The role emphasizes adherence to budgets, schedules, and standard PM processes while supporting the Project Manager and Superintendent.

The position requires 3–5 years in commercial construction, familiarity with Procore, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is desired, but not required.
• 3-5 years of experience in the Commercial Construction Industry in Project Engineer/Project Management.
• Experience with construction project management software (Procore desired).
• Leadership abilities and strong written and oral communication, including negotiation skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment; deadline and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Help and assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in the management and execution of construction projects, including Scheduling, Cost Control, Expediting, Quantification, Estimate/Pricing and Safety.
• Prepare Submittal log updates and RFI’s updates with emphasis on outstanding submittal and unanswered RFI’s.
• Study and learn submittal requirement; ensure subcontractors make timely submittals; review subcontractor submittals for conformance with specs and contract documents; transmit submittals to Architect/design team for review; maintain status log and responses.
• Prepare, address and distribute RFI’s to appropriate design consultant, owner and subcontractors.
• Check and review Change Orders submitted by subcontractors for validity and correctness.
• Prepare Construction Schedule using Microsoft Project; prepare estimates to justify Extra work or Change Order.
• Prepare Material Take-off and requisitions and purchase orders.
• Oversee proper completion of Daily Job Logs and As-Built records.
• Prepare and gather all closeout documentations; Expedite material deliveries; Monitor quality control and report to PM and superintendent.
