Job summary

AllSearch Professional Staffing, Inc. in Detroit, MI is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to support Project Managers on industrial, automotive, and higher education construction projects.

The role focuses on project coordination, documentation, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and construction administration. You will manage project document control, track submittals and RFIs, review change orders, support procurement, and help prepare meeting minutes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of relevant professional construction experience.
• Experience supporting industrial, automotive, or higher education construction projects.
• Knowledge of construction engineering, construction technology, codes, and standards.
• Experience with project document control, construction scheduling, submittals, RFIs, change orders, subcontractor coordination, and/or construction project administration.
• Ability to travel to project sites as project needs require.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers with project coordination and communication among owners, contractors, subcontractors, and project team members.
• Provide technical support for the resolution and tracking of construction project issues.
• Manage project document control and construction documentation.
• Maintain project schedules and assist with construction scheduling activities.
• Assist with planning and managing site logistics and construction logistics.
• Facilitate project meetings and maintain meeting minutes.
• Support and enforce corporate safety policies on job sites.
• Coordinate project issues and resolution with subcontractors.
• Process and track submittals, RFIs, and other project documentation.
• Support procurement activities, including distribution of bidding documents and bidder tracking.
• Receive, review, and evaluate contractor quotations for project changes and process change orders.
• Assist with weekly labor and quantity tracking.
• Assist with construction quality control and validation of approved products and materials.
• Assist with punch list and project closeout activities.
• Manage plan review and approval processes with local and state municipalities.
