Job summary

Premier Design + Build Group in Chicago seeks a project engineer to assist project managers on client construction projects across ground-up, tenant improvement, and remodel work. You will support RFI/submittal tracking, document control, scheduling, and field coordination to ensure project success.

You will also participate in design coordination and owner/client interactions, while preparing progress, permit, and punch-list reports.

Qualifications

• Assist with RFI and submittal tracking and contract document maintenance (≤ schedule and progress reports).
• Coordinate with consultants and subcontractors; support project teams in problem solving and field communications.
• Represent the company professionally in project meetings and strategy sessions.
• Explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers and clients as needed.
• Prepare reports on work progress, scheduling and permitting.
• Assist with planning, organizing and directing on-site activities with the superintendent.
• Compile as-built and close-out documents, track punch lists and warranty items.
• Contribute to team esprit de corps and uphold project integrity.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project administration including RFI/submittal tracking, permit status, document maintenance, scheduling, bidding, and changes.
• Coordinate with consultants and subcontractors and communicate with field staff.
• Attend client meetings and represent the company professionally.
• Explain plans and contract terms to staff and clients as needed.
• Prepare progress, schedule, and permitting reports.
• Support on-site planning with the superintendent and direct activities as needed.
• Assemble as-built/close-out documents and manage punch lists and warranties.
• Engage in team activities to uphold esprit de corps and project success.
