Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Entry-Level Project Engineer for a permanent, onsite role in the Greater Milwaukee area. You will work with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to help deliver commercial construction projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.

The ideal candidate will have a construction-related degree and internship experience, strong organization, and communication skills, and be proficient in MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
• Internship or co-op experience with a General Contractor is preferred.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Project Engineer

## Position Overview
Our client, a reputable Commercial General Contractor in the Greater Milwaukee area, is seeking an Entry-Level Project Engineer to join their construction team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career construction professional to gain hands-on experience managing commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The Project Engineer will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

Project Coordination

• Assist Project Managers with the planning, execution, and closeout of commercial construction projects.
• Support project schedules, budgets, and documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, and engineers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in project meetings and maintain meeting minutes and action items.

Document Control

• Manage Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, shop drawings, and project correspondence.
• Track and distribute construction documents and revisions.
• Maintain accurate project files and records.
• Assist with permit and inspection coordination.

Field & Construction Support

• Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and quality.
• Assist Superintendents in resolving field issues and coordinating subcontractor activities.
• Verify completed work aligns with project plans and specifications.
• Support safety initiatives and compliance efforts on job sites.

Cost & Schedule Management

• Assist with budget tracking, change orders, and project forecasting.
• Monitor procurement schedules and material deliveries.
• Participate in progress reporting and project status updates.
• Help identify and mitigate potential project risks and delays.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
• Internship or co-op experience with a General Contractor is preferred.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred

• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam Revu, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar construction management software.
• Familiarity with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
• Knowledge of commercial construction practices and project delivery methods.
• OSHA 10 certification.

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Waukesha, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $100000.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms. If eligible, the benefits
