Job summary

Actalent in Lakehurst, NJ is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to support federal design-build and design-bid-build construction projects. You will assist in managing documentation, scheduling, procurement, and field progress to ensure successful execution.

This onsite role requires coordinating with Program Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors, reviewing plans, managing RFIs and change orders, tracking costs, and reporting status to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience leading construction projects from planning through closeout.
• Knowledge of project control systems and scheduling practices.
• Familiarity with design-build and design-bid-build delivery methods.
• Ability to review plans, specs, and contract requirements for alignment.

Job Title: Construction Project Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Construction Project Engineer to provide project management support on federal design-build and design-bid-build construction projects in Lakehurst, NJ. The role involves assisting in the management of project documentation, scheduling, procurement, and other vital functions to ensure successful project execution.

Responsibilities

• Support the Program Manager, Project Manager, and Site Superintendent in daily project management activities.

• Review plans, specifications, and contract requirements to ensure project alignment.

• Build and maintain client relationships while coordinating project-related activities.
• Assist in developing and implementing various project plans, including Quality Assurance, Safety, and Procurement Plans.
• Contribute to the negotiation, approval, and execution of contracts and change orders.

Essential Skills

• Strong experience in construction and project management.
• Proficiency in construction management systems and project control.
• Experience with design-build and design-bid-build construction projects.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and engineering principles.
• Ability to manage RFIs, change orders, and project coordination effectively.

• Experience in commercial construction and site development.
• Familiarity with civil engineering and civil construction practices.
• Capability to track project progress and coordinate subcontractor activities.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Lakehurst, NJ.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $110000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
