Your new company:

General Contractor hiring for a Construction Project Engineer to work on commercial construction projects throughout the Washington DC area. Seeking professionals with 2+ years of experience in construction who are looking to build long-term careers in the industry. Open to current Project Engineers or Assistant Project Managers from subcontractor or GC backgrounds. Successful applicants must be US Citizens due to project requirements. No sponsorship or visa transfer is available for this role.

The initial assignment will involve renovation construction projects within Higher Education facilities across the DC area, with potential expansion into commercial tenant improvements, municipal, and multifamily projects.

Your new role:

As a Construction Project Engineer, you will support the Project and Field Management teams with administrative and project management tasks. You will work on municipality and interior construction projects in the Washington DC area.

Your responsibilities include ensuring project targets are met in quality, time, and budget. Tasks involve project scheduling, bidding, take-offs, procurement, cost controls, and managing RFI’s, submittals, and change orders.

What you'll need to succeed:

• At least 2 years’ experience in the construction industry with a general contractor or subcontractor.
• Experience in commercial construction, including new builds or interior renovations.
• Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related discipline is preferred but not essential.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, excellent communication skills, and adaptability to different personalities and seniority levels.
• Experience with construction software such as Procore or Bluebeam, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Must be US Citizens and local to the DC area. Overseas applicants or those requiring sponsorship will not be considered.
