Job summary

Air Systems is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Construction team in the San Jose area. This full-time role reports to the Construction Manager and focuses on delivering high-quality projects within scope and deadlines while maintaining strong client and project-team relationships.

Key duties include supporting project management, coordinating with clients, and producing design deliverables, RFIs, and change orders.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management degree with MS Office proficiency for reporting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Management to research customer requirements and align solutions with project goals.
• Build and strengthen relationships with ASI clients through responsive communication.
• Develop proficiency in engineering, estimating methodologies, and industry software.
• Support Project Managers in client coordination, multi-project scheduling, equipment procurement, and design deliverables.
• Apply construction job-costing and accounting principles to track budgets and cost performance.
• Produce design drawings and permit submittal packages per jurisdictional requirements.
• Prepare, track, and manage RFIs, change orders, and submittals to ensure timely resolution.
• Perform additional project and engineering tasks as needed.

Job Summary

Air Systems is looking for a Project Engineer to join our Construction team. This is a full-time position reporting to the Construction Manager. This position will be responsible for completing high quality projects within scope, deadlines, and hours while maintaining customer and project team relationships.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Management to research customer requirements, support client outreach, and align technical solutions with project goals
• Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term relationships with ASI clients through responsive communication and proactive support
• Develop proficiency in engineering, estimating methodologies, and industry-specific software to support project planning and execution
• Support Project Managers in client coordination, multi-project scheduling, equipment procurement, and preparation of design deliverables
• Apply construction job-costing and accounting principles to track budgets, monitor cost performance, and support financial controls
• Produce design drawings and assemble complete permit submittal packages in compliance with jurisdictional requirements
• Prepare, track, and manage RFIs, change orders, and submittals to ensure timely resolution and project continuity
• Perform additional project and engineering tasks as assigned to support operational and business needs

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management degree, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for technical documentation and reporting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, paired with strong customer service and relationship-building abilities
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the creativity and resourcefulness to deliver results using available tools and resources
• Collaborative team player who is flexible, adaptable, and able to contribute positively to changing project needs

Competitive Salary

$80,000 - $115,000 per year based on experience.
