Job summary

SC Builders in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for master planning and specifications to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

You will support RFI management, scheduling updates, and coordination with subs and clients. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication, financial management, and the ability to perform under pressure.

Qualifications

• Experience with project planning and coordination on commercial construction projects.
• Strong budgeting, scheduling, and documentation abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage project plans and specs to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.
• Coordinate RFI processes and liaise with subs, clients, and architects.
• Support closeout, turnover, and coordination meetings as needed.

What You’ll Do:

The SC Builders Project Engineer is the Master of Project plans and specifications. You will contribute strategically to ensure that each project is completed on time and within budget.

Primary Areas Responsibilities & Specific Tasks

• Manage RFI Process
• Assist Superintendent with updating schedule and subs/clients on changes
• Manage tracking long-lead items
• Manage buyout of self-perform items (white boards, appliances, etc.) and small scope items such as final clean, code signage, etc.
• Assist with OAC & Special Coordination Meetings
• Manage closeout and commission process, as needed
