  • Perform Submittal review and tracking for Project.
  • Learn and Assist with Schedule development and update management of Project.
  • Learn and Assist with Commitment writing for trade partners on Project.
  • Assist and Perform project Document Management of all updated Project information.
  • Learn and Assist with Cost Management tracking of Project.
  • Learn and Assist with Change Management collection, tracking and approvals for Project.
  • Advocate for Safety culture throughout Company and Project.
  • Assist, Perform, and Collect Punch Management process of Project.
  • Learn and Assist with QA/QC process on Project.
  • Assist with Warranty process on Project.
  • Assist with Closeout process on Project.

Job Title: Construction Project Engineer

Reports to: Director of Project Management

Job Summary:

The Project Engineer works closely with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager supporting the overall management of a construction project from start to finish. The Project Engineer develops strong relationships with the field and office teams, clients, and trade partners. Communication, trouble shooting, and problem‑solving skills are critical for success. The Project Engineer is a daily representative of Neumann and must demonstrate our core values.

Primary Functions
  • Construction Project Management Core Competencies
    • Assist Project Manager with Project Set Up
    • Perform Submittal review and tracking for Project
    • Learn and Assist with Schedule development and update management of Project
    • Learn and Assist with Commitment writing for trade partners on Project
    • Assist and Perform project Document Management of all updated Project information
    • Learn and Assist with Cost Management tracking of Project
    • Learn and Assist with Change Management collection, tracking and approvals for Project
    • Advocate for Safety culture throughout Company and Project
    • Assist, Perform, and Collect Punch Management process of Project
    • Learn and Assist with QA/QC process on Project
    • Assist with Warranty process on Project
    • Assist with Closeout process on Project
  • Assist in the development of project estimates from conception to contract execution including performing quantity take‑off and estimating work on project pursuits.

Physical Demands
  • Duties will include standing, walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping or kneeling, talking and hearing, and use of fingers and hands to feel objects, tools, or controls. Including climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. (above and below ground level) while maintaining balance and reaching in all directions.
  • Must occasionally lift, push, pull, or move up to 35 lbs.
Working Conditions
  • While in the office relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards.
  • Conditions will vary at each project location but may include extreme temperatures and exposure to other physically challenging environmental factors.
  • May occasionally be exposed to high noise levels and/or hazardous materials while on job sites.

Schedule: Expected to work at least 40 hours per week. However, hours may vary significantly based on business needs. Project deadlines and critical construction phases may require extended workdays and weekend hours, sometimes on short notice.

Travel: The job will be performed in an office environment, on a construction project job site, and with owners or project partners at their offices or other meeting sites. Personnel are responsible for their own transportation.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Project Engineer Co‑Ops and Interns as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in construction management, engineering or related field or comparable experience in the field.

Other Duties:

  • May be asked to assist in other functions of the company as needed.
