Scott Humphrey Corporation is seeking a Project Engineer for a traveling, full-time onsite role on active commercial construction projects in the Chicago area. The position requires 1+ years of project engineering experience and a bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering is preferred.

You will support the Project Manager and Superintendent, manage submittals, RFIs, changes, and schedules, and coordinate with subcontractors from the project site.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of project engineer experience in construction.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Procore or similar construction software preferred.

Experience:

1+ years of construction project engineering experience

We are seeking a Project Engineer with 1+ years of experience supporting commercial construction projects. This is a traveling, full-time job-site position, with the individual working directly from the project site throughout the duration of the project.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent with day-to-day project operations
• Assist with submittals, RFIs, change orders, project documentation, and schedules
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders
• Track project progress, materials, and documentation
• Attend project meetings and assist with maintaining project schedules
• Help ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and compliant with plans and specifications

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of Project Engineer experience within the construction industry
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Procore or similar construction software preferred

Willingness and ability to travel and work full-time on active construction job sites
