Job summary

Kura Sushi USA in Irvine, CA is seeking a Construction Project Coordinator to support planning, budgeting, and construction management for new stores or renovations. This onsite role ensures projects stay on time and on budget.

The position requires coordinating with PMs, subcontractors, and internal teams, maintaining documentation, and preparing reports. Candidates should have a construction background and strong organizational skills for multi-project oversight.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management preferred but not required; progressive experience in assisting a construction team in multi-unit retail/restaurant environment.
  • At least 2 years of construction coordination on multiple projects required.

Responsibilities

  • Support Construction Project Managers in planning, organizing, and executing construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Assist PM with project schedules, budget tracking, and forecasts; identify risks and delays.
  • Manage project documentation and workflows (RFIs, submittals, daily reports, change orders).
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of work and materials.
  • Assist with contract administration, review scopes of work, and track change orders.
  • Prepare project reports and communicate status updates to clients and senior staff.
  • Support procurement and bid activities, including pricing and vendor selection.
  • Manage close-out process and filing of all paperwork to landlord to retrieve TI allowances.
  • Manage Subcontractor Monthly Invoicing; prepare Pay Applications and Purchase Orders.

The Construction Project Coordinator contributes to Kura success by managing in planning, construction management and financial oversight in new store or renovation construction projects while maintaining the highest standards of excellence in delivering the Kura experience in our stores. Be responsible for the construction process so that projects are completed on time and under budget.

This position is based in Irvine, CA and requires candidates to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of our Irvine office. Team members are expected to work onsite a minimum of one day per week, with additional in-office presence required based on division responsibilities and business needs. This is not a remote position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Construction Project Managers in planning, organizing, and executing construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Assist Construction Project Manager with project schedules, budget tracking, and forecasts; identify and escalation risks and potential delays.
  • Manage project documentation and workflows including RFIs, submittals, daily reports, change orders, and correspondence.
  • Support communicating with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of work and materials.
  • Assist with contract administration, review scopes of work, and prepare/track change order documentation.
  • Prepare project reports and communicate status updates to clients, stakeholders, and senior project staff.
  • Support procurement and bid activities, including gathering pricing, reviewing proposals, and assisting with vendor selection.
  • Manages close out process and ensure appropriate filing of all paperwork to landlord to retrieve T.I. allowances.
  • Manage Subcontractor Monthly Invoicing
  • Prepare Pay Applications for submission and Purchase Orders (as needed)

Education/Experience:
