Job summary

Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead residential building efforts in Vermont. The role oversees all phases from permitting to occupancy, with a focus on safety, budget, and meeting timelines.

The ideal candidate has five or more years in construction management, reads drawings, understands codes, and can coordinate volunteers and subcontractors. This full-time, on-site position in Lamoille and Chittenden Counties offers a competitive

Qualifications

• Five or more years of construction management experience.
• Ability to read and use construction drawings.
• Knowledge of building and energy codes.
• Ability to manage multiple activities and stay within budget.
• Strong verbal and written communication with stakeholders.
• Proven leadership while coordinating volunteers and subcontractors.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
• Current Habitat OSHA safety certificate or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Review development of site plans and building plans with third‑party experts.
• Establish timeline for construction and manage expense budget.
• Solicit and procure building materials through vendor bidding process and through donations.
• Supervise all on‑site construction volunteers, with a strong emphasis on safety and participation.
• Coordinate with Construction Volunteer Coordinator to track staffing and volunteer hours.
• Work with Director of Real Estate and Construction to apply, secure and close all required permits and inspections for municipal and state compliance.
• Support the Family Services Coordinator with the final walk‑thru/inspections with partner families.
• Hire and oversee subcontractors.
• Oversee all aspects of Habitat home construction, from the excavation phase to home occupancy.
