Job summary

Westbrook Vision in Central Florida is seeking a Construction Plumbing Technician to install plumbing systems for commercial projects in line with blueprints and codes. This full-time role offers company-funded education opportunities and an on-call schedule, with generous employee benefits.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years of experience as a commercial plumber, strong blueprint-reading skills, knowledge of plumbing codes, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a commercial plumber.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install plumbing systems for commercial new construction projects in accordance with specifications, blueprints, and codes.
• Perform underground plumbing installations including sanitary sewer, domestic water, and storm piping.
• Complete rough-ins and install water supply, waste, drain, and vent piping.
• Install above-ground plumbing systems and distribute domestic water.
• Measure, cut, assemble, and install piping with appropriate materials and joining methods.
• Read and interpret blueprints and plumbing drawings to determine layouts and requirements.
• Coordinate with project supervisors and other trades to align installations with schedules.
• Follow safety protocols and OSHA regulations; maintain tools and equipment.

Pay: $22.00 - $40.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday to Friday - On call (as needed)

Key Responsibilities of the Construction Plumbing Technician include:

• Install plumbing systems for commercial new construction projects in accordance with project specifications, blueprints, and applicable plumbing codes.
• Perform underground plumbing installations, including sanitary sewer, domestic water, and storm drainage piping.
• Complete plumbing rough-ins, including installation of water supply, waste, drain and vent piping systems.
• Install above-ground plumbing systems, including domestic water distribution, sanitary drainage, and vent piping.
• Measure, cut, assemble, and install piping using appropriate materials, tools, and joining methods.
• Install plumbing fixtures, equipment, and associated piping connections according to construction plans and specifications.
• Read and interpret construction blueprints, plumbing drawings, and specifications to determine piping layouts and installation requirements.
• Coordinate with project supervisors and other trades to ensure plumbing installations align with construction schedules and site requirements.
• Follow all jobsite safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and company safety procedures.
• Maintain company-issued tools, equipment, and materials in proper working condition.

Qualified candidates will have:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. (Preferred)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Commercial Plumber
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must have a valid driver's license
