Job summary

Trident Consulting in Thousand Oaks, CA (Hybrid Tue & Wed) is seeking a Construction Permit Coordinator for a 12+ month contract role. You will work with local agencies to acquire construction permits within the public right-of-way to support utility installation and maintenance.

You will coordinate with internal teams and government agencies, review drawings, monitor permit statuses, and negotiate permit conditions to keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• One or more years of experience reviewing construction drawings, maps, or designs.
• Experience coordinating permits with Government agencies and utility projects.
• Ability to monitor permit statuses and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with Cities, Counties, and Caltrans to obtain permits for work within public ROW.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to obtain approvals and negotiate permit conditions.

Location: Thousand Oaks, CA (Hybrid Tue & Wed)

Type: Contract

Duration: 12+ Months (Potentially Extended)

Pay rate: $35/hr on W2 (All inclusive)

Job Summary

• Work with local agencies (Cities, Counties, Caltrans) to acquire construction permits within public ROW.
• Responsible for securing permits required for work within the public right-of-way to support the installation, maintenance, and operation of utility facilities.
• Regularly coordinate and communicate with internal departments, government agencies, municipalities, and other external stakeholders to obtain approvals, ensure compliance with permitting requirements, and negotiate favorable permit conditions.
• Serve as a key liaison throughout the permitting process, helping facilitate timely project execution while maintaining positive working relationships with regulatory and permitting authorities.

Required Skills / Attributes

• One or more years of experience reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, plans, maps, and/or designs.
• Experience working within construction timelines and with various construction personnel and clients.
• Monitor and update permit statuses, approvals, and expiration dates.
• Familiarity with building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and SharePoint.
