Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Payroll Accountant to manage payroll transactions, benefits, and tax compliance for Colorado projects. The role emphasizes accuracy, timely processing, and collaboration with multiple departments and a payroll service provider.

The successful candidate will review payroll data, prepare journal entries, and support month-end close while ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements. This is an on-site, salaried position with competitive benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Review and record payroll transactions including hours, PTO, and deductions.
  • Prepare payroll reports and journal entries in accordance with policies.
  • Monitor taxes, benefits contributions, garnishments, and other deductions for accuracy.
  • Coordinate payroll matters with departments, locations, and payroll provider.
  • Assist in month-end closing and cost control for projects.
