In this role, you will serve as an extension of the client’s team—representing the owner’s interests, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption to operations.
This position is ideal for a construction or facilities project manager who enjoys solving multi‑stakeholder challenges, managing risk, and taking full ownership of project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the owner’s representative throughout the full project lifecycle, from planning and design through construction, relocation, and closeout.
- Lead multiple projects simultaneously, including workplace renovations, office consolidations, secure facility moves, and capital improvement programs.
- Represent the owner’s interests in all project decisions, advocating for schedule, budget, quality, and operational continuity.
- Coordinate and manage the work of architects, engineers, contractors, furniture vendors, IT providers, movers, and specialty consultants.
- Develop and maintain master project schedules, budgets, risk logs, action plans, and communication plans.
- Facilitate regular project meetings; prepare clear status reports and present updates to client leadership.
- Review and comment on design documents, construction drawings, phasing plans, and vendor proposals for alignment with owner goals and constraints.
- Monitor construction progress through site visits and quality assurance inspections; verify compliance with contract documents, codes, and standards.
- Manage procurement activities, including RFPs, bid evaluations, and recommendations for vendor selection.
- Oversee FF&E procurement and installation, workplace relocations, move management, and occupancy planning to ensure seamless transition into new or renovated spaces.
- Identify project risks early and implement mitigation strategies to protect schedule, budget, and business operations.
- Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, dependable follow‑through, and a consultative, solutions‑oriented approach.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of progressive project management experience in commercial construction, workplace projects, interiors, facilities, or capital programs.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects from pre‑planning through construction, relocation, and occupancy, ideally in occupied or secure environments.
- Strong understanding of project delivery processes, contracts, budgets, schedules, and change management.
- Proven ability to coordinate diverse stakeholder groups and multiple vendors in complex, multi‑phase projects.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills; comfortable interacting with executives and end users.
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and ownership mindset.
- Ability to travel regionally as required to project sites (typical travel within Mid‑Atlantic / Northeast markets).
Preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification, or willingness to obtain within 12–18 months of hire.
- Experience with government agencies, commercial office environments, workplace relocations, or secure facility moves.
- Familiarity with space planning, interior fit‑outs, and transition/move management.
Work environment
- Hybrid work model with a mix of client‑site visits, project meetings, and remote work.
- Fast‑paced, collaborative environment supporting multiple concurrent projects.
- Direct client‑facing responsibilities with high visibility to leadership teams.
What You’ll Bring
- A client‑first mindset and commitment to representing the owner’s interests at all times.
- The ability to anticipate issues before they become problems and to propose practical, cost‑effective solutions.
- Confidence managing ambiguity and balancing schedule, budget, and quality in live operating environments.
- Professionalism, integrity, and a team‑oriented approach to project delivery.
