Job summary

Coakley & Williams Construction is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to join our Public and Federal Government Construction team. Based from Chambersburg, PA, with project support across Maryland, you will lead safety programs and training for field staff and trade contractors, ensuring OSHA compliance and a strong safety culture.

You will develop corporate safety programs, coordinate training, review incident reports, and support project teams with day-to-day safety management.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certificate required.
• Minimum 5 years as OH&S professional in construction or related field.
• CHST status or progress toward CHST preferred.
• Clean driving record and ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety culture through coaching and training for field staff and contractors.
• Develop and implement project-specific safety plans.
• Lead day-to-day OH&S management on projects.
• Inspect workplaces and ensure compliance with OSHA and regulations.
• Prepare safety reports and document findings.
• Investigate incidents to identify root causes and preventive actions.
• Conduct weekly project safety meetings and document outcomes.
• Provide input to mitigate hazardous conditions and drive continuous improvement.
