Job summary

The ECS Group of Companies in Ohio seeks a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Intern Level I to observe and begin performing routine field and laboratory testing tasks supporting ongoing projects. You will assist with data collection, documentation, and testing activities under supervision while learning practices, methods, and workflows.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• One certification must be completed within the 90-day introductory period, and all basic certifications within 270 days including Radiation Safety, Soils I, and Concrete I.
• If driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Willingness to work in outdoor environments and field conditions.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Assists with construction materials observation and testing in field and lab.
• Observes and participates in testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and other materials.
• Documents site conditions and testing results in field reports.
• Prepares and organizes field and laboratory equipment.
• Performs basic data entry, calculations, and data reduction.
• Supports laboratory testing activities, including sample preparation and curing.
