Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is offering a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Intern Level I position in Florida. The role supports field and laboratory testing projects, helping with data collection, documentation, and testing activities under supervision to build foundational technical skills.

We seek students pursuing Civil Engineering or related degrees, with required certifications to be completed within stated timelines.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree in Civil Engineering, or related field.
• One certification must be completed within 90 days; all basic certifications within 270 days, including Radiation Safety, Soils I, and Concrete I.

Responsibilities

• Assists with field and laboratory construction materials observation and testing.
• Observes testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and other materials.
• Documents site conditions and testing results in field reports.
• Assists with preparation and organization of field and laboratory equipment.
• Performs basic data entry, calculations, and data reduction tasks.
• Communicates with field staff, contractors, and project team members.
• Keeps supervisors informed of changing site conditions or testing needs.
• Assists with reviewing laboratory results and supporting documents.
• Supports lab testing activities including sample prep, curing, and testing.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of work areas.
• Notifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment.
• Attends project meetings with senior staff as requested.
