Job summary

DIHO Consulting USA in Sulphur, LA is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician to perform field testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and pile monitoring in accordance with project specs.

The role requires 2+ years in construction materials testing and current ACI certification. A valid TWIC is preferred. Candidates must have reliable transportation, pass drug and background checks, and be willing to work on an on-call/irregular hours schedule.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Construction Materials Testing.
• Current ACI certification.
• Must have dependable transportation, a truck is preferable.
• Must be able to pass a DISA drug screen.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• TWIC card (preferred).
• Physically capable of lifting heavy materials and equipment.
• Capable of maintaining an "On Call" type schedule and must be willing to work obscure hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform field tests such as concrete testing (slump, air content, temperature, unit weight, and casting cylinders for compressive strength).
• Soil compaction testing using sand cone or nuclear density gauge.
• Proctor, Atterberg limits, sieve analysis, and other soil classification tests (as applicable).
• Asphalt density testing and pavement core sampling.
• Pile monitoring during installation to document capacity, penetration, and blow counts.
• Produce timely and detailed reports.
• Operate vehicle in a safe manner and follow safety procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform field tests such as:
  • Concrete testing (slump, air content, temperature, unit weight, and casting cylinders for compressive strength)
  • Soil compaction testing using sand cone or nuclear density gauge
  • Proctor, Atterberg limits, sieve analysis, and other soil classification tests (as applicable)
  • Asphalt density testing and pavement core sampling
  • Pile monitoring during installation to document capacity, penetration, and blow counts
• Produce timely and detailed reports
• Operate vehicle in a safe manner and follow our corporate safety procedures at all time
• Follow all company's procedures and protocols
• Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization
• Build positive relationships with clients
• Arrive at the job site to which you are dispatched, on time each day
• Communicate with dispatch on a daily basis
• Communicate with onsite clients each day and relay any information to management
