Actalent is seeking an entry-level Construction Materials Technician for hands-on outdoor work in Saint Louis, MO. This contract-to-hire role offers paid training, opportunities to earn industry certifications, and real-world experience in soil, concrete, asphalt, and steel testing.

You will support field and lab testing, observe construction activities for quality and safety, and collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients.

This is a hands-on role with paid training, real-world experience, and the opportunity to earn valuable industry certifications (including ACI and more).

What You’ll Do

• Perform field and lab testing on materials like soil, concrete, asphalt, and steel
• Observe construction activities to ensure quality and safety standards are met
• Work closely with project managers, contractors, and clients
• Use mobile apps and simple reporting tools to document job site data
• Be part of active construction projects from the ground up

What We’re Looking For

• No prior experience required – we will train you!
• Strong work ethic and willingness to work 50+ hours/week when needed
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to follow safety guidelines
• Basic computer skills (we’ll teach you the rest)

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
