Raba Kistner is seeking an enthusiastic Construction Materials Technician to join our team in Dallas, TX. The Construction Materials Technician is responsible for conducting field or laboratory testing, sampling, and/or inspection services.

  1. Communicate with dispatcher/coordinator to ensure priorities and deadlines are met in both the field and laboratory.
  2. Meet with supervisors of contractors, engineer/architect representatives, and/or other project leads on project sites to discuss and coordinate testing, sampling, or inspection of construction materials or procedures.
  3. Follow safety protocols to ensure the safe utilization, storage, and maintenance of all nuclear gauges and field equipment.
  4. Communicate project progress and delays to supervisor and dispatcher.
  5. Submit accurate and complete testing/inspection reports daily.
  6. Drive company vehicles to job sites safely.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. High School diploma, G.E.D., or relevant industry certification such as ACI Field, ACI Concrete Strength, ACI Aggregates, TxDOT SB101, SB102, SB103, SB201, SB202, 1A or 1B, or other comparable certifications.
  2. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites, including rough terrain.
  3. If no certifications are held, obtaining at least one industry certification within six months of employment is required, supported by the firm.
  4. Ability to operate nuclear gauges safely, including completing required safety courses within six months if not already certified.
  5. Basic mathematical skills, reading and understanding instructions, and good oral and written communication skills.
  6. Safety-minded with a focus on safety procedures and protective equipment.

The physical activities required include sitting, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, reaching, lifting up to 70 pounds, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. The role may require irregular hours based on client needs.
