Job summary

WW Clyde is seeking a Quality Control Field Technician to join our team in the Utah region. The role involves sampling and testing construction materials in the field and lab, including aggregates, soils, base, and hot mix asphalt, to ensure compliance with project specifications.

You will work closely with project teams, report results, and help train crews on sampling procedures and quality requirements. The job requires travel across Utah, including overnights, and adherence to safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with ability to obtain ATTI Field Technician and ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to obtain Radiation Safety Training for nuclear gauge operation.
• Basic math and computer skills for test calculations, data entry, and reporting.
• Strong communication skills, self-motivated, and able to work with crews and project teams.
• Willingness to travel throughout Utah, including overnight stays, and work long hours and 6–7 days a week when needed.

Responsibilities

• Sample and test aggregates, soils, base, hot mix asphalt, and concrete in the field and laboratory per specifications.
• Test stockpiled materials at various sites, including gradation, asphalt content, and mix verification.
• Perform in-place density testing with a nuclear gauge and collect asphalt cores as required.
• Conduct concrete field tests such as slump, air content, temperature, and cylinder fabrication.
• Review project specs to determine testing frequency and acceptance requirements.
• Communicate results promptly to foremen and project teams and escalate issues as needed.
