Job summary

The Project Manager for Operations at CalPortland is responsible for assisting the Quality Control Manager by reviewing project specifications and ensuring critical projects are planned and executed. This role also involves inspecting raw materials to ensure compliance with specifications and coordinating field teams.

With 2–5 years in ready-mix or construction materials, you will bring strong communication and problem-solving skills, along with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must have 2–5 years of ready-mix experience in a construction materials environment.
• Excellent attendance and punctuality are required.
• Able to work varying shifts, including night work.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned geographical sales area for Central Concrete Supply.
• Review project specifications and manage mix submittals/revisions.
• Coordinate and attend pre-construction meetings.
• Provide job-site service and first-line technical support including quality control, safety, and environmental oversight.
• Train and provide guidance to field technicians.
• Coordinate work with other regional management (Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Dispatch).
• Manage project elements: correspondence, schedules, specifications, testing, and statistical analysis of service/product performance.
• Prepare and analyze reports (compressive strength, gradations) to optimize mix performance.
• Handle and resolve project problems and complaints.
• Maintain equipment and calibrations for lab and field equipment.
• Obtain and maintain all necessary ACI certifications.
