Job summary

Raba Kistner, Inc. in San Antonio, TX is seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our Consultants team.

You will sample, process, and test materials per ASTM, AASHTO, DOT, and related standards, with emphasis on documentation of results and adherence to procedures. The role requires physical testing of concrete, HMA, soils, and aggregates, plus calibration of equipment, safety compliance, and timely communication with clients and team members.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; may require industry certifications within six months of employment.
• Valid driver’s license and meet auto insurability requirements.
• Good oral and written communication; ability to read procedures, specifications, and reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical/index/chemical construction material laboratory testing (concrete, HMA, soils, aggregate) as assigned.
• Properly document hours worked and assist in client billing efforts.
• Maintain equipment calibration and routine maintenance records.
• Keep a neat, clean, and safe laboratory/workspace.
• Maintain relevant certifications and review testing methods regularly.
• Meet deadlines and priorities per established procedures.
• Follow safety procedures and PPE usage; handle tools and equipment safely.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external personnel.
• Participate in health & safety programs and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
