Job summary

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates, Inc. is hiring a Construction Materials Testing Technician in Sarasota, FL.

You will conduct field observations and sampling of construction materials, and prepare daily logs detailing inspections and test results across soils, concrete, aggregates, and related materials. Starting pay is $23.00/hr with potential up to $30+/hr based on experience; sign-on bonus of $200 and opportunities for a retention bonus after one year, plus paid training and ESOP

Qualifications

• Reliable vehicle for field work and valid driver's license.
• Must meet additional pre-employment criteria.
• Ability to lift/move up to 60-80 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors in various climates.
• Attention to detail and safety compliance.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Use of company-provided tablet and MS Office.
• Ability to perform basic math and read measurements.
• With training, ability to read and interpret plans.

Responsibilities

• Field observations at regional jobsites.
• Sampling and testing of construction materials.
• Prepare accurate daily logs with inspections and test results (soil, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, structural steel).
• Daily communication with PM or Operations Manager regarding project progress.
