Job summary

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates in Emmaus, PA is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician to join our Lehigh Valley office. You will perform field observations and testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, and other materials on a variety of land development and construction projects.

We offer on-the-job training, a starting pay of $20.00 per hour, and benefits including ESOP ownership and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Reliable vehicle for field work, valid driver’s license, and satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 60–80 pounds (soil and concrete samples, nuclear gauges, other equipment).
• Ability to work in all outdoor climates and mobility over various terrain.
• Attention to detail and quality, while adhering to all safety requirements.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
• Use of company provided tablet and working knowledge of MS Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Field observations at jobsites in the region.
• Sampling and testing of construction materials.
• Preparing accurate daily logs that outline inspections and test results.
• Daily communication with PM or Operations Manager regarding project progress.
