Job summary

Mid South Steel is seeking a motivated Material Handler to support our construction projects. You will manage the flow of materials from receipt to delivery, ensuring accurate inventory and safe handling.

The role requires hands-on forklift operation, organizational skills, and collaboration with project managers to meet schedules. The position is on-site, with a Monday-Thursday 5:00am-3:30pm shift and overtime on Fridays and Saturdays as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience as a Material Handler in construction.
• Proficiency with material handling procedures, equipment, and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and supplies.
• Organize and maintain inventory in an orderly and accessible manner.
• Prepare materials for delivery or pickup, including packaging, labeling, and securing loads.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist in loading and unloading of materials onto trucks and other vehicles.
• Collaborate with project managers to prioritize material deliveries and pickups based on project schedules and requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, transactions, and materials used.
• Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and update inventory management systems accordingly.
• Assist in resolving materials and supply-related issues or discrepancies.
• Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and regulations to create a safe working environment.
