Position Summary
Fenagh Engineering & Testing is seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Project Manager to join our growing team in Austin, Texas. The CMT Project Manager will oversee construction materials testing and inspection projects from proposal through completion, ensuring quality, schedule adherence, budget performance, and client satisfaction. This role requires strong project management skills, technical knowledge of construction materials testing, and the ability to lead field and laboratory personnel while serving as a trusted partner to clients and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple construction materials testing and inspection projects simultaneously.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and staffing plans.
- Coordinate and oversee field technicians, inspectors, laboratory personnel, and subcontractors.
- Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and geotechnical recommendations.
- Monitor project progress, financial performance, and resource utilization.
- Ensure testing and inspection activities comply with applicable ASTM, AASHTO, TxDOT, ICC, and project-specific standards.
- Review and approve field and laboratory reports for accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.
- Identify project risks and proactively implement solutions to maintain project schedules and budgets.
- Support business development efforts through client relationship management and proposal preparation.
- Conduct project meetings and communicate project status updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and industry regulations.
- Mentor and develop project engineers, technicians, and inspection staff.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Geology, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Construction Materials Testing, geotechnical engineering, special inspections, or related consulting services.
- Minimum of 2 years of project management experience.
- Strong understanding of construction materials testing procedures, including:
- Soil testing
- Aggregate testing
- Structural inspectionsExperience managing project budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I
