Job summary

STV Group is seeking a Construction Manager for our Water/Wastewater practice in the Atlanta, GA area. The role supports current staff, grows statewide W/WW CM services, mentors junior staff, and maintains client relationships.

Responsibilities include on-site observations, schedule reviews, coordination with owners/engineers, payment review, and documentation. Candidates should have 10+ years in W/WW facility construction or inspection.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in W/WW facility construction or construction inspection.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment on complex projects.
  • Experience coordinating with Owners, Engineers, and Contractors.

  • Conduct daily on-site observations to verify progress per contract documents.
  • Review project schedules and consult with Owner/Engineer for acceptability.
  • Review contractor construction sequencing and coordinate activities to minimize conflicts.
  • Assess payment applications for accuracy and advise on payments.
  • Maintain field records, diaries, and as-built changes.
  • Identify project deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions.

STV has an immediate need in the Atlanta, GA area for a Construction Manager for our Water/Wastewater group. The successful candidate will support our current staff while assisting in growing the W/WW Construction Management practice to better service our clients statewide.This role offers unlimited opportunities to maintain existing client relationships, broaden STV’s service offerings geographically, be involved in major W/WW projects, mentor junior staff, all while promoting the culture of a healthy work-life balance.Job Responsibilities:Conduct daily on-site observations of the general progress of the work to confirm for the Owner and Engineer that the work is proceeding in accordance with the contract documents. Any defects or deficiencies in the work shall be reported to the Owner and Engineer. Give observations, opinions, and recommendations for corrections.Review project schedules and consult with Owner and Engineer regarding acceptability. Review the Contractor’s construction sequencing proposals for all construction work to be undertaken. Assist in coordinating scheduling of project activities to minimize conflicts with Owner’s activities.Review construction plans, specifications, and other plans affecting assigned projects.Participate in meetings to discuss construction details and resolves issues with contractors and other project stakeholders.Review Contractor’s payment applications for accuracy. Advise the Owner for payment or rejection.May make field measurements. May ensure conformance with applicable safety standards and regulations.Assist in coordinating materials testing. Identify on-site project problems.Observe reports and alerts appropriate members of project team on non-conformance issues. Monitor the correction of project deficiencies.Observe field tests of equipment, structures, and piping, and review the resulting reports, commenting to Owner and Engineer.Identify and recommend approval of necessary contract and/or plan adjustments to accommodate field conditions.Maintain daily diary and field records of material and quantities used.Maintain set of working drawings accurately depicting changes to the construction contract including but not limited to RFI’s, field changes, change orders, and change directives.Calculate and recommend formal approval of appropriate progress payments to contractors for work completed.Specific Requirements:Applicant must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in W/WW facility construction or construction inspection.Having broad expertise or unique knowledge, uses construction concepts skills.Works on significant and unique issues and projects requiring an evaluation of intangibles.Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.Occasionally provides consultation and advice to management regarding matters of considerable importance to the functional area.Exercises judgment to independently determine methods and procedures for completing new or special assignments.Has the ability to adapt to sudden changes in schedule and/or task.Analyzes schedule and prioritizes tasks to ensure critical work is observed and documented.Occasionally provides direct or indirect supervision to other personnel.Compensation Range:$124,726.29 - $142,544.33STV offers the following benefits • Health insurance, including an option with a Health Savings Account • Dental insurance • Vision insurance • Flexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare, Dependent Care and Transit and Parking where applicable) • Disability insurance • Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment • 401(k) Plan • Retirement Counseling • Employee Assistance Program • Paid Time Off (starting at 16 days) • Paid Holidays (9 days) • Back-Up Dependent Care (up to 10 days per year) • Parental Leave (up to 80 hours) • Continuing Education Program • Professional Licensure and Society MembershipsSTV is committed to paying all of its employees in a fair, equitable, and transparent manner.
