Construction Manager position for a private Northern California homebuilder in Petaluma, CA. You will oversee a townhome community from start to finish, directing on-site construction, trade partners, safety, and compliance while ensuring high-quality build standards and timely closings.

The role demands on-site leadership, strong scheduling discipline, and close coordination with inspectors, homeowners and internal teams. California experience and valid work authorization required.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience building townhomes or condos.
• Bachelor's in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field with 5 years direct experience, or 7 years as a construction manager.
• OSHA 30 and active First Aid/CPR/AED; PMP or CCM is a plus.
• Proficiency with Hyphen BuildPro; Procore and MS Project.
• Strong ability to read plans, specs and codes.

Responsabilités

• Manage all phases of the build on an active townhome community, ensuring schedules and closings on time.
• Schedule and direct trade partners; walk homes daily to verify progress and keep subs aligned.
• Lead an Assistant Construction Manager and the trade base on site.
• Review and approve trade invoices and POs; resolve issues to keep payments moving.
• Handle permits, plot plans and inspections; walk with inspectors and close out corrections.
• Re-sequence schedules around weather, material and labor shortfalls.
• Maintain site safety program to Cal/OSHA and company standards with regular safety training.
• Communicate clearly with internal departments, inspectors, agencies and homeowners.

Construction Manager, Townhomes

An established, privately held Northern California homebuilder has a single-family attached townhome community under way in Petaluma and needs the Construction Manager who runs that site from first start through final quality inspection and the homeowner walk.

What you will own

• Every phase of the build on an active townhome community, with production schedules that hold and homes that close on time
• Scheduling and directing trade partners, walking homes daily to verify production, and keeping subs working from accurate options and diagrams
• Leading an Assistant Construction Manager and the trade base on site
• Reviewing and approving trade invoices and POs, and clearing issues so payments move
• Permits, plot plans and inspections: walking with inspectors and closing out corrections
• Re-sequencing schedules around weather, material and labor shortfalls
• The site safety program to Cal/OSHA and company standards, including regular documented safety training
• Clear communication with internal departments, inspectors, agencies and homeowners

What you bring

• At least 3 recent years building townhomes or condos. This is non-negotiable.
• Bachelor's in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field with 5 years direct experience, or 7 years as a construction manager
• OSHA 30 and active First Aid/CPR/AED; PMP or CCM a plus
• Schedule management and trade payment approvals in Hyphen BuildPro; Procore and MS Project
• Strong plan, spec and code reading
• Valid California driver's license, reliable vehicle, and U.S. work authorization
