Job Description
Position Summary:

As the Construction Manager you will play a critical role in the success of our projects. The CM provides technical and administrative supervision to employees, subordinate superintendents, and others as directed. While working under the direction of the Project Manager, you will be a key leader in the management and growth of our field personnel, while being the on-site point of contact for our customer during each phase of construction. With a focus on proper execution of site procedures, safety practices, expense management and daily project reporting, you will ensure the delivery of a quality product while maintaining a safe working environment.

Essential Functions
  • Supervise field/project operations and production.
  • Provide technical and administrative supervision to employees, foremen and others as directed.
  • Collaborate in developing and documenting project scope, work plans, budget, and overall schedule.
  • Ensure operational activities are in compliance with specifications and are on schedule and within budget.
  • Monitor subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
  • Conduct and review performance evaluations of assigned staff.
  • Ability to manage field personnel and subcontractors to complete projects, on time and within budget.
  • Determine and recommend appropriate project labor and equipment resources.
  • Implement safety and security policies, procedures, and instructions for field/project operations.
  • Ensure that projects are in compliance with state and federal codes, requirements, and standards.
  • Prepare progress and expenditure forecasts, and other project operational reports as required.
  • Coordinate field/project operational activities and provide technical input to project personnel and representatives of the client when instructed by the responsible manager.
  • Monitor daily work practices to ensure compliance with established programs and applicable State and Federal regulations.
  • Inform Project Manager of status, deviations, and recovery plans.
  • Anticipate potential problem areas and analyze and recommend solutions or corrective actions.
  • Accepts ownership of all job site activities and personnel to include on-site planning, material & equipment management, process execution and safety.
  • Ability to oversee, and report daily progress to the project team, ensuring completion on time and within budget.
  • Ability to interpret & manage construction activities based on installation standards, project files, drawings, documents & records
  • Experience with basic project and construction coordination, to include planning, scheduling, cost management, change order identification, procurement of material/receiving and customer relations.
  • Experience with the installation, and maintenance of construction projects.
  • Coach/mentor employees while providing feedback on performance
  • Experience with and ability to implement on-site training to field personnel
  • Provide technical assistance such as interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods, specify and order materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Review employees time and expenses ensuring accuracy & accountability
  • Manage crew efficiency and assess task-based time
  • On site company representative with strong communication skills, responsible for interactions with Inspectors, customers, landowners, OSHA, etc.
  • Willing to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • 5+ years of relevant field supervision experience
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of construction means and methods, applicable regulations, and pertinent industry standards
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Construction Supervisory: 5 years required
  • 2 years of experience interpreting construction drawings and details, preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in scopes of work inherent to vertical construction, including:
    • Architectural
    • Civil/structural
    • Mechanical
    • Electrical
    • Security and/or Communications
Physical Demands

Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, walk, and drive or sit for long periods of time. Must be capable of working in inclement conditions to include extreme hot and cold temperatures.

Work Environment

Work is regularly performed in a combination of office and shop environments, and the employee is regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise.
