Job summary

PG&E in Concord, CA seeks a Construction Manager to lead paving and concrete construction projects, oversee contracts, and coordinate with project teams to meet safety, quality, cost and schedule goals.

Hybrid role with remote and on-site work within PG&E service territory. The role involves evaluating project feasibility, preparing job packages, mentoring staff, and interfacing with bidders, contractors and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 7 years of experience in Civil engineering or Civil Construction.
• Experience with managing government agency paving and concrete projects.
• Knowledge of unit price contracts.

Responsibilities

• Applies broad expertise to work with a high degree of knowledge and ability.
• Works closely with Project Managers and Construction Supervisors to understand targets and identify projects.
• Compiles and interprets drawings and data for RFP/contract processes; negotiates scope with contractor.
• Leads job scope discussions and reviews IFC drawings, schedule and target dates.
• Manages communication and documentation with contractors and conducts on-site meetings.
• Monitors daily construction activities ensuring safety, quality, cost and schedule goals.
• Acts as PG&E representative in the field and ensures safety plans and permits are followed.
• Provides mentoring and training to Associate, Career and Senior level employees.
