Job summary

SIRIS LLC is seeking a seasoned Construction Manager as an Owners Representative for a National Park Service project in Anniston, Alabama. The role focuses on planning, coordination, and oversight of historic rehabilitation and modernization, with full-time onsite construction oversight and project controls.

The ideal candidate will manage safety, quality, schedule, cost, and preservation while collaborating with contractors and stakeholders to protect historic resources and minimize disruption.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred.
• OSHA 30: Required.
• Five (5) plus years of relevant experience in construction management or owner’s representation.
• Experience supporting federal, healthcare, institutional, historic preservation, or regulated projects preferred.
• Strong schedule, cost, quality, documentation, and stakeholder coordination experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor project budget, financial performance, schedule, and progress.
• Review contractor documentation, schedules, testing, inspections, and QA for compliance.
• Participate in progress meetings and support issue resolution and change management.
• Support claims administration, contract modifications, and proposal reviews.
• Maintain project tracking tools, reports, and documentation supporting program oversight.
• Prepare project correspondence, analytical reports, and status updates.
• Support construction administration and provide guidance on best practices and compliance.

Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Construction Manager to join our SIRIS team as an Owners Representative in support of National Park Service project located in Anniston, Alabama. This role will focus on the planning, coordination, and oversight of a historic rehabilitation project and modernization of a National Monument, while preserving historic features. This position will provide full-time onsite construction oversight and project controls.

Project Scope

This project involves the historic rehabilitation and modernization of a landmark public facility, including preservation of historic features, building system upgrades, accessibility improvements, life-safety enhancements, and site improvements. The Construction Manager will provide full-time onsite oversight, supporting quality and safety, schedule and cost controls, submittals and RFIs reviews, inspections, progress reporting, change management, and project closeout.

Who Will Succeed in This Role

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented construction professional with experience in construction management, observation, or owner’s representation. They are comfortable working independently on complex renovation or historic rehabilitation projects while balancing quality, safety, schedule, cost, and preservation.

• Strong communicator who can effectively coordinate with contractors, stakeholders, and project teams.
• Highly organized with strong documentation, project controls, and attention to detail.
• Proactive in identifying and resolving schedule, cost, quality, and coordination issues.
• Brings a calm, solutions-oriented approach and takes pride in representing the owner’s interests.
• Experience with federal or public-sector projects is preferred.

• Complying with applicable federal, environmental, preservation, and accessibility requirements.

Education & Experience

Education

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred; with relevant construction management experience.

Certifications

• OSHA 30: Required
• CCM, PMP, PE, or equivalent construction management credentials Preferred

Experience

• Five (5) plus years of relevant experience in construction management, project management, construction observation, owner’s representation, or a closely related field preferred.
• Experience supporting federal, healthcare, institutional, historic preservation, or other regulated projects is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience managing or supporting complex construction projects, including schedule, cost, quality, documentation, and stakeholder coordination.
• Candidates with a strong combination of relevant project experience, technical knowledge, and demonstrated ability are encouraged to apply.
• Candidates may be asked to provide examples of completed projects demonstrating relevant experience.

Additional Requirements

• Familiarity with construction practices, quality assurance, scheduling, cost management, and change management
• Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment in administrative, financial, and compliance matters
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, and Adobe Acrobat
• Strong written, verbal, and organizational communication skills

• Full-time onsite work at an active construction site and office environment
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use standard office equipment
