Job summary

Hardwick General Contracting is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead daily field operations for luxury custom homes and high-end remodeling projects across Central Florida.

The role requires coordinating subcontractors, maintaining schedules, ensuring quality and safety, and communicating with the project management team to ensure work aligns with approved plans and company standards. In Maitland, this on-site position offers growth and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in residential construction, incl. 5+ years leading luxury sites.
• Experience with luxury custom home construction or high-end remodeling.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, plan interpretation, and finish standards.
• Ability to coordinate activities in occupied residences.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily jobsite operations and subcontractor coordination.
• Develop and maintain a three-week look-ahead schedule with PM/Director.
• Review plans and specs to verify dimensions and installations.
• Inspect work, document deficiencies, coordinate corrections.

About the Position

Hardwick General Contracting is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee daily field operations for luxury custom homes and high-end residential remodeling projects throughout Central Florida.

The Construction Manager will coordinate subcontractors, manage project schedules, oversee construction quality, maintain project documentation, and communicate with the project management team to ensure work is completed according to approved plans, schedules, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily jobsite operations, subcontractor coordination, construction sequencing, and material deliveries across assigned projects.
• Develop and maintain a three-week look-ahead schedule in coordination with the Project Manager and Director of Operations.
• Review construction plans, specifications, and selections to verify dimensions, layouts, and installation requirements.
• Inspect completed work, document deficiencies, and coordinate corrections before subsequent work begins.
• Coordinate required inspections and monitor compliance with applicable building codes and safety standards.
• Maintain daily construction logs, project photographs, and field updates using ConstructionOnline.
• Identify and communicate scheduling conflicts, missing information, project delays, and potential cost impacts.
• Coordinate procurement, scope changes, and client updates with the Project Manager.
• Oversee punch-list completion, walkthrough preparation, and project closeout activities.
• Provide guidance to construction assistants and interns as assigned.
• Maintain company standards for workmanship, jobsite cleanliness, and protection of completed work.
• Support process improvement and sustainability initiatives as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum eight years of residential construction experience, including at least five years leading luxury residential construction jobsites as a Construction Manager, Superintendent, or equivalent.
• Direct experience managing luxury custom home construction or high-end residential remodeling projects. Production homebuilding experience alone does not satisfy this requirement.
• Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, sequencing, plan interpretation, subcontractor coordination, and finish-quality standards.
• Ability to coordinate construction activities in occupied residences when required.
• Strong organizational, communication, scheduling, and documentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and ability to use construction management software.
• Valid driver's license, acceptable driving history, and ability to travel between assigned project sites.
• Ability to perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary: $90,000-$120,000, based on experience.
