Job Summary

The Construction Manager manages and oversees the performance and activities of construction crews, ensuring work is performed in a safe, accurate, and timely manner. Inspects ongoing work, ensures adherence to codes, arranges equipment, and keeps project costs within budget.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate activities of construction crews
• Evaluate and improve team performance and skills
• Enforce company policies and procedures
• Administer disciplinary actions and document performance issues
• Train Foremen
• Coordinate with Project Manager on scheduling and materials
• Work with customers on site planning
• Order materials for assigned jobs
• Handle crew timesheets and documentation
• Approve invoices
• Ensure projects stay within budget and schedule
• Track milestones and deliverables
• Complete reports, maps, and as-builts
• Participate in hiring and interviews
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Qualifications

General

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with clean record
• Experience managing construction crews
• Proficient in aerial/underground construction
• Ability to read plans and blueprints
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Knowledge of computer software (Excel, Word, Scheduling Software, HCSS Heavy Bid)
• Ability to analyze data and perform calculations
• Ability to interpret technical documents
• Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Work indoors and outdoors, in various weather conditions
• Work around heavy equipment and machinery
• Lift up to 50 pounds
• Perform physical tasks like bending, climbing, and standing for long periods
• Wear safety gear as required
