Job summary

Peak Utility Infrastructure seeks a Construction Manager – Gas Transmission Contract to lead safe, efficient, and profitable execution of construction activities. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Eight or more years of progressively responsible construction or project-management experience preferred.
  • Previous experience managing utility or telecommunications construction projects strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of construction activities from mobilization through completion and closeout.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies, customer requirements, approved procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Manage project schedules, production goals, labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and other resources required to meet contractual commitments

  • Conduct regular field visits to evaluate safety, quality, productivity, staffing, material availability, restoration, and project progress.

The Construction Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and profitable execution of construction activities supporting the Gas Transmission contract. This position provides leadership to field and support teams, coordinates labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors, and ensures work is completed in accordance with contractual requirements, company standards, applicable regulations, and customer expectations.

The Construction Manager serves as a primary operational contact for the customer and is accountable for project safety, quality, schedule performance, cost control, documentation, workforce development, and overall contract performance.

Roles And Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and execution of construction activities from mobilization through completion and closeout.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies, customer requirements, approved procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Manage project schedules, production goals, labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and other resources required to meet contractual commitments
  • Monitor project financial performance, including budgets, labor utilization, equipment costs, productivity, forecasting, change orders, and overall profitability.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships through regular communication, accurate reporting, timely issue resolution, and delivery against agreed expectations.
  • Conduct regular field visits to evaluate safety, quality, productivity, staffing, material availability, restoration, and project progress.
  • Identify project risks, operational challenges, and potential delays, and implement corrective actions before they affect performance.
  • Ensure required project documentation, customer reports, work records, claims information, and closeout materials are accurate and completed on time.
  • Review and support requests for information, proposals, change orders, cost estimates, and other contract-related documentation.
  • Lead, develop, and hold accountable project supervisors, field employees, subcontractors, and support personnel.
  • Partner with Human Resources and Talent Acquisition to identify staffing needs and support recruiting, selection, onboarding, training, and retention.
  • Promote continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, cost control, customer service, and operational execution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrated experience leading utility, telecommunications, infrastructure, or related construction operations.
  • Strong understanding of construction planning, scheduling, field operations, production management, quality control, and project closeout
  • Experience managing project budgets, forecasts, labor costs, equipment utilization, productivity, and profitability.
  • Ability to interpret contract requirements, project plans, specifications, schedules, and customer expectations
  • Proven ability to lead and hold accountable a diverse field and support workforce.
  • Strong customer-service, communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Ability to identify risks, resolve operational issues, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environmen
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project-management, scheduling, or construction-management systems.
Experience And Education
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Eight or more years (8+) of progressively responsible construction or project-management experience preferred.
  • Previous experience managing utility or telecommunications construction projects strongly preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education, field experience, and leadership experience may be considered.
Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
  • Ability to travel to project locations and customer meetings as required
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours when operational needs require
  • Successful completion of required background checks and pre-employment drug screening.
