Job summary

Kleinfelder's Houston office is seeking a Construction Manager for Environmental Remediation / Decommissioning / Demolition. This role involves leading engineers, scientists, and managers on large-scale projects with up to 50% travel to Mississippi locations.

Ideal candidates bring 12+ years in industrial settings and 5+ years of PM experience, proven bid leadership, and strong client relationships. The job offers growth within a multidisciplinary, people-first environment.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in industrial, petrochemical or refinery environments.
• 5+ years project management directing professional and technical staff.
• Experience preparing bid documents and guiding final contractor selection.
• Ability to evaluate design packages for constructability at large facilities.
• Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
• Experience leading proposals exceeding $1M in value.
• Safety leadership and implementation of behavior-based safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to engineers, scientists, construction managers, contractors and waste facilities.
• Develop strategy, cost estimates and project schedules for large remediation projects.
• Regulatory expertise in hazardous waste, NORM, asbestos and related areas.
• Demolition planning, waste management planning and onsite waste handling.
• Coordinate waste transportation, profiling, and disposal with vendors.
• Develop demolition plans, bid documents and contractor selection.
• Conduct risk assessments for demolition activities and ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to meet environmental standards and safety goals.
• Drive innovation to improve demolition processes and reduce environmental impact.
• Negotiate and manage contractor relationships; ensure safety program adherence.
