Job summary

Turner & Townsend in the United States is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead large-scale ground-up real estate projects. You will partner with clients and cross-functional teams, drive planning, budgeting, and governance, and ensure delivery to schedule and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with superb communication, able to take initiative with limited supervision, manage stakeholders, and identify opportunities to improve project management

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Project Manager in construction on commercial ground-up real estate projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for client-facing roles.
  • Experience managing demanding stakeholders and work stream managers.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with the client and other consultants at all project stages.
  • Manage project budgets and ensure timely client invoicing and financial monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans and schedules.
  • Apply performance management techniques and monitor progress.
  • Oversee change control processes and governance standards.
  • Coordinate information flow between team and client via meetings and reports.
  • Prepare budget progress and other formal reports.
  • Ensure quality control and compliance with standards.
  • Contribute to proposals for new work or variations as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve PM procedures and templates.

Turner & Townsendare seeking an experiencedConstruction Managerto work on large-scale construction projects. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have excellent communication skills, be able to take the initiative and drive activities with limited supervision.

Responsibilities:
  • Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.
  • Financial management: Ensuring prompt client invoicing and utilizing the financial system to monitor a project’s financial status.
  • Project planning, including producing a detailed project plan.
  • Monitoring and applying performance management techniques.
  • Managing the change control process.
  • Managing the flow of project information between the team and the client, through regular meetings and written communications.
  • Preparing formal project budget progress and other reports.
  • Quality Control – Ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Working to construct proposals for new work or variations for existing projects.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve Project Management procedures, templates and products referring ideas to the appropriate line manager.
  • Identifying and ensuring that the appropriate line manager is aware of quality, safety, health and environment issues.
  • Establishing effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilized throughout project.
  • General line management responsibilities (where appropriate) are effectively discharged.
  • Ability to advise strategically during the project conception stage, including providing advice on the different approaches that can be adopted to achieve the client’s overall objectives.
  • Great time management skills. Ensure that the project is managed to the right quality standards, completed efficiently and on time.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with clients and cross-functional team members.
  • Experienced working as an effective team member within the context of delivering a specific commission.
  • Business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross-selling opportunities, are identified.
  • Key information and data are effectively shared and appropriately retained.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degreein Engineering, Construction Management or a related field, or related equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working as a Project Manager within the construction industry on commercial ground up real estate projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to be highly effective in a client facing role.
  • Experienced managing demanding stakeholders and work stream managers.
